Something I don't see everyday

This is something I don't see everyday...seeing this nature creature simply made my morning bright. It was such an unusual encounter to come face to face with the 'praying mantis' as it was sort of dancing in front of my car window - it seems to be a friendly one.

Well, people....LOVE NATURE!

Breeding 'Tokay' Geckos

Sometime ago, my husband, Zorab learned about the medicinal purpose & financial value of the Tokay geckos...and he decided to hunt for them at our garage. He found a little Tokay but didn't manage to catch it. However, he did find their eggs and try if he can keep or breed them inside this container (of course he punched holes on it). It's been more than 3 weeks now but I still can't see them hatching anytime.

I read from my brother's blog about it recently...on how one can become wealthy by just selling them - 200gm - 300gm gecko can fetch up to RM8000 to RM100,000. But then again I heard it's financial value has gone down due to many suppliers in the market selling these tokays.

Sudden Interest

Just recently, my twin sis, Debbie, got me into reading and listening to her researched stories on Mt. Everest, particularly of those stories that linked to the worst disaster in the history of Everest - the worst storm that hit Everest on May 10, 1996 where 8 people/climbers perished including the two world renowned guides, Rob Hall & Scott Fischer. It's interesting, inspiring, motivating & heart-wrenching. I was so focus on listening of her well-explained details that my head was full of imagination which makes me want to know more and what happened next. As if she's an expert climber already that she knows what and where is 'Hillary Steps', 'Khumbu Falls', 'South Col', the 'Death Zone' and blalala. And she even list down in one of her goals in life to climb up Mt. Everest one day, well at least reach 'Base Camp' (yeah right / as if) and that IF only she can afford to do so. She is so ambitious despite my warnings about frost bites and all. Well it's good to dream such a dream and I'm happy for her that she wants to live life to the fullest.

View from my doorstep

Shot this view of Mt. Kinabalu with my simple/cheap digicam very early this morning, right in front of my house doorstep. I just love the cold morning breeze we have here in Tamparuli and today is another lovely morning.

I missed climbing up Mt. Kinabalu. If I ever climb again, it will be my 6th time. Luckily I've climbed and conquered it before the fees have ridiculously increased like hell now.

So this is my everyday natural and orginal poster of Mt. Kinabalu....




This is highest hill in Tamparuli Town - Bukit Perahu. If you want to train yourself before climbing up Mt. Kinabalu, climbing this hill is the best training place to build up your stamina.

Without zooming, this is the actual view from a distant...muahahaha. Seen from the left is Bukit Perahu and on the right is the majestic Mt. Kinabalu.

Awesome sight of the Halo

This beautiful appearance of the Halo happened last week on 11 Oct, a day after the Soyuz TMA-11 Rocket (that carries our very handsome and first M'sian angkasawan, Dr Sheikh Muszaphar to Space) was launched from Baikonur, Kazakhtan. Everyone was talking or blogging about what they saw up on the sky that day.... I too don't wanna miss telling that I saw (mau jugak)....what they called the 22° Circular Halo. Actually..this was like my 2nd time that I saw the Halo..many years back. Ya..it was indeed an awesome sight..took a few photos from my office window.
