Oh Paris!

I had a weird dream last night - that I went for a trip to Paris, France and visited the Eiffel Tower. Oh I just wish the dream was real! A trip to Paris one day is on my wish list already. I might buy a nice jar to start saving for that trip - to one of the most romantic places on earth and yes and I mean Paris, the city of love. I guess this is the side effect of watching too much of 'Monte Carlo' - I love that movie so much that I watched not once but thrice. (the same effect got into me with movies like Clueless, French Kiss and Ever After - I know it's crazy that I'm a movie freak!)



I was helping my bestie, Melissa to do survey online for her future business on supplying wedding favors in Sabah or even getting ideas to do wedding favors for her own wedding (hopefully next year) and I came across this site and stumbled upon this pretty "Evening in Paris" Eiffel Tower place card holder by Kate Aspen. And the name on the card almost sounds like my name. How lovely is that.



And If I'm not married (I said IF ya)...I would like to date a French guy (hahaha)....ehem..particularly this French hottie - Pierre Boulanger who acted in Monte Carlo. This is what I defined as 'handsome'.


Okay..okay..wake up now Mama Rock - you are still up in the clouds...time to wake up. What a dream...Oh Paris!

Movie to Watch: Monte Carlo

I think this is a cute movie to watch....pretty girls meets pretty boys, being daring and all. So I'll definitely will watch this movie sometime soon. Who doesn't like Selena Gomez? - she's pretty, young, lovable and extremely talented.




Storyline: A young woman, her uptight step sister and her best friend use their savings for a long anticipated dream trip to Paris, which turns out to be a big disappointment. When they decide to take a break from their lousy tour and duck into the lobby of a luxury hotel, one of them is mistaken for a spoiled British heiress. Before they get the chance to reveal their true identities they are wrapped up in misadventures during a vacation to Monte Carlo instead.

Eat Pray Love

Went to watch this movie with friends, Melissa & Raz - Julia Robert's latest film 'Eat Pray Love' a few days ago. It was very inspirational and I liked the fact that the movie was based on a true story/a life memoir of Elizabeth Gilbert, also author of the book with the same title. And I also bought the book 'Eat Pray Love' just recently - good read, really! My next buy will be 'Committed' (more on marriages or being committed to love) also by Elizabeth Gilbert and probably could be the next sequel to the movie (who knows). I love the music soundtrack in the movie - will go buy the CD as soon as it's out. A movie worth watching - go watch! It's about letting yourself go......

Since the movie is based on real life....I would love to meet this so called 'medicine man' from Bali named Ketut Liyer - he really does exist, how interesting will that be, I wonder...Ketut reading my palm??:)

Black Swan

I think lots of women out there (me one of them) adores the beauty of Natalie Portman...who doesn't? - she is so simple but so beautiful (reminds me of Audrey Hepburn). Anyway, I'm looking forward to watch her upcoming movie the 'Black Swan' this December. I read that she did hours of extreme training of both ballet and crosstraining with swimming starting a year ahead of time to prepare herself for the film - wow that's really full of commitment & I'm sure she could be in the oscar's nomination list next year.

Synopsis: Nina (Portman) is a ballerina in a New York City ballet company whose life, like all those in her profession, is completely consumed with dance. She lives with her obsessive former ballerina mother Erica (Hershey) who exerts a suffocating control over her. When artistic director Thomas Leroy (Cassel) decides to replace prima ballerina Beth MacIntyre (Ryder) for the opening production of their new season, Swan Lake, Nina is his first choice. But Nina has competition: a new dancer, Lily (Kunis), who impresses Leroy as well. Swan Lake requires a dancer who can play both the White Swan with innocence and grace, and the Black Swan, who represents guile and sensuality. Nina fits the White Swan role perfectly but Lily is the personification of the Black Swan. As the two young dancers expand their rivalry into a twisted friendship, Nina begins to get more in touch with her dark side - a recklessness that threatens to destroy her.

Could be very interesting (although it's a psycho-thriller movie)!

A must-see movie: SALT

Angelina Jolie at the recent movie premier of SALT in the US - just LOVED her black dress!

If you like a woman power-action movie or Angelina Jolie for that matter, you'll like this movie. I was boss-less today and I thought I could catch a movie and it's my chance to go watch 'Salt' - again to the cinema alone. I totally heart Angelina and all her type of action movies like these (e.g. Wanted, Lara Croft The Tomb Raider, etc). Never doubt she's a great & versatile actress! And a cool mom too - my inspiration!

Read that this movie was originally written for a male protagonist and that character was offered to Tom Cruise to cast as Edward Salt but he turned it down and they remake the part for Angelina as the woman spy 'Evelyn Salt'. And for that - thanks to Tom Cruise. The movie is a big hit with remarkable storyline & had large impact on me. Will go buy the DVD later for my 'Angie Movies' collection.

Synopsis: As a CIA officer, Evelyn Salt (Jolie) swore an oath to duty, honor and country. Her loyalty will be tested when a defector accuses her of being a Russian spy. Salt goes on the run, using all her skills and years of experience as a covert operative to elude capture. Salt's efforts to prove her innocence only serve to cast doubt on her motives, as the hunt to uncover the truth behind her identity continues and the question remains: "Who Is Salt?"

Twilight Saga fever with 'Eclipse'

The World Cup is now over but the Twilight Saga fever still continues on, especially when it's 3rd installment 'Eclipse' has just started showing on cinema. Twi-hard fan like me certainly would'nt miss watching it too - ya, watched it yesterday during lunch hour at Growball Cinema...alone but next to me was a young pregnant lady who was a lone ranger too so it was okay. The hall was not even half full but the audience were fun and everyone clapped when Bella admitted her love for Jacob and asked him to kiss her. So I guess most of them are on Team Jacob. And this time for this 3rd part - I'm on Team Jacob! And he is hotter than Edward..hehe (remember Jacob's corny lines?). And it's the best 'Twilight' film so far - it's more action-packed, cute but still a lil chessy and charmingly romantic. I still can't stand Kristen's acting though. There's some cool accessories featured in the film but I particularly liked these ones:

Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland Movie Premiere in KK

It's been a while since I last blogged huh? Same story again..been busy as a bee. Just need to rush some work in advance before I go on leave + maternity leave by end of April. I'm having a slight jittery feeling about my 2nd pregnancy - not sure if I can go through normal birth or opt for c-sect delivery (again). I'll blah-blah more about this later.

Anyways, the movie that I've been SO lookin forward to...yes...1st day screening on cinema today 11 March, told my boss earlier I'm watching Tim Burton's 'Alice in Wonderland today (she said sure...go ahead - love her!)

I just love fantastical/imaginative (and weird) movies like these...especially if it involves Johnny Depp and Tim Burton and it's their 7th films together. I read 'when you take those two, they always seem to make something really out of the ordinary' - literally magical!

Fun Friday

Today...time spent during the working hours was fun, not because it was pay day a few days ago but me and my also movie addict bestie always have a movie day each week especially on Friday...and yes since we both adores Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, we went to watch 'Tooth Fairy' (click on the website here to know more)



Enjoyed it SO MUCH - cos it's damn funny and I got a bit emotional as well, 'The Rock' could surely act well...no matter action or comedy, he's really good actor and of course SO hunky-licious and charmingly good looking! Check out the trailer:

1) Like Stars on Earth/Taare Zameen Par (Bollywood movie - but not really the typical one, a family type movie but it's worth watching)



2) Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus (last movie role of the late Heath Ledger)



There goes my weekend...movies at home but will try to do other fun things too if laziness doesnt rule me. Happy weekend people - hope it will rain so I could have a good and cooling afternoon nap (ha!)

Go animated

As I was going around searching for X'mas gifts, I saw this tiny cute keyring called 'Forest Ghost' which stated on it's box could bring love and luck. Me being so Donna loved stuffs like this - I loved collecting. I'm amazed with those creative people who creates stuffs like these and make $ out of it. I got it from 'Something Different' gift shop. They have a few kinds and this one is called 'Love Dolls': Sparks of love will never eliminate interest, enjoyment of forever fatal-level gravity-like feeling love. I might buy other series later.


It's made in China - you can tell by reading the description at the back of it's little box.

Well, I was at the movies again....

Went to watch Disney's musical 'The Princess and the Frog' today - loved/enjoyed it...so worth watching for you and your family. It's funny and the music is great...the movie soundtrack is a MUST buy! When I read that the movie is gonna be set in the Jazz Age in New Orleans - I already knew the music is gonna be great! Can't wait to buy the dvd for my CJ, I know she's gonna love it too.

At 16 Weeks

It's been awhile since I last blogged huh? Same story - it's either I'm too overload at work or lazy/no inspiration to blog. Anyways...I have not being doing much of 'me' time lately (as in doing some creative thingy) - I got tired after spending half a day during the weekends layaning my CJ, since she's becoming more of a fussy pot, a rascal but getting smarter and listening to her singing to tinkerbell's songs. But it's joyful fun just being with CJ!

Well...finally here's photo scan of my baby:) I'm at about 16 weeks preggy and he or she is starting to move actively inside my belly - so happy to know that he/she is growing healthily. I'm trying my best to STOP eating chillies for now (which sometimes I can't help myself) - just to avoid the rashes on the baby's face when he/she comes out in May next year (ha!). By Jan/Feb, I'm looking forward to know on the baby's gender, it's still too soon to tell right now.



I'll be back here soon...looking forward to go watch a movie tomorrow (escape to the cinema again) - New Moon or Ninja Assassin. I still feel the strong impact after watching 2012 - I might take leave on Dec 12, 2012...wakakaka.

MJ's This Is It

A friend & also an MJ's fan, Kim and I had already purchase our tickets to watch MJ's 'This Is It' movie at the end of this month. In Sabah, the movie will be on theaters starting 29 Oct. But shucks! Suddenly my company's event which was scheduled to be held on 28 Oct will be rescheduled on 30 Oct (the movie day) as to coincide with another Budget Talk. Today, I'll try to check with the cinema staff if we can change the tickets to another date. Both of us look so forward to this show. And the new unreleased song 'This Is It' is great too..despite the controversy behind it. For more details, check out this video and here - MJ's official website.

Movie: The Little Ashes

Watched this movie 'The Little Ashes' last weekend. Any movie/documentary about an artiste/painter's life is a MUST watch thing for me because anything about the arts fascinates and inspires me. I have a few of this kind of movie in my collection such as Surviving Picasso, Pollock and Frida. Honestly, I don't really understand this movie...I mean I can't feel the story...dead boring and lil disgusting. I thought it will feature more on the life of the eccentric Spanish painter, Salvador Dali. Another reason why I watched this movie again because it starred Robert Pattinson (you know...the Twilight heartrob?) who potrays Dali.

Now I understand what 'surrealism' (A 20th-century literary and artistic movement that attempts to express the workings of the subconscious and is characterized by fantastic imagery and incongruous juxtaposition of subject matter) movement is. Here's an example of what surrealist painting looks like. Interesting right?!






I think I'll attempt to paint a surrealist art sometime soon. Wish me luck and be my 1st critic.

Carmen's Song/Obsessed with Coraline

This was accidently posted a few days ago before I even finish bla bla-ing what's it all about cos CJ was playing the computer keys at that time. Oh well, just to say something about CJ's current obsession. She's so into the animated movie 'Coraline' and she's crazy about this particular song. She even memorized a few of those weird lyrics already. But I think this song and the movie are both cool too - artistically weird and unique. Have you watched it? It's worth watching if you haven't. Reminds of me some similar and old creative/weird animated movies such as Beetlejuice, The Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride.

No it's not about Lady Gaga but I'm still going gaga on 'Twilight' & (scream first...AAARRRHHHH) Edward Cullen/Robert Pattinson. Oh how I wished 'Edward Cullen' is a REAL charming & harmless vampire. OMG! what is happening to me...why am I going nuts about all these stuffs. Hey woman...I think you're trapped in a teen girl's body.

Anyways, the thing is I noticed from my traffic feed that lots of people out there (probably mostly young girls or fans of RP I guess) googled about either RP or Twilight Saga and I think they must have accidentally stumbled upon my lame blog over my post on "Screaming Over Robert Pattinson & Twilight Saga". Don't you think this house is beautiful? Extremely enchanted and awesome house...fit for a vampire! This is an actual home in Portland, Oregon and the residence of the Hoke family. The home was designed by Skylab Architecture and architect Jeff Koval.
