Brighten up and smile (on Mondays and rainy days)

Most people always says Monday sucks but actually it does'nt have to always be that bad. Here's something to rid the monday blues...listen to some pretty tunes from the radio or your fav cd's in the car. Just to share...here's one to listen to, just to start off your Monday bright and smilling.....

This guy is really good & just awesome-ly talented! And I love his lovely rendition of 'Amos Lee's' Sweet Pea. He's Gabe Bondoc, another cool Philippino talent, and a popular indie pop/acoustic artist based in San Mateo, California. I googled, and read that he rose to fame with his One Take Sessions of famous songs and his own compositions in Youtube. (Hi Gabe, I'm a fan of your voice!) For more of Gabe and his music - check him out in here.

Now I want to play the guitar like him so badly...unfortunately my old but classic guitar (quite a vintage one actually) broke into half unintentionally by Danny, my younger bro, a few years ago. Plan to buy a new one sometime soon.

Let's sing along....
Sweet pea Apple of my eye
Don't know when and I don't know why
You're the only reason I keep on coming home
Sweet pea What's all this about
Don't get your way all you do is fuss and pout
You're the only reason I keep on coming home
I like the Rock of Gibraltar I always seem to falter
And the words just get in the way
Oh I know I'm gonna crumble
I'm trying to stay humble
But I never think before I say
Sweet pea Keeper of my soul
I know sometimes I'm out of control
You're the only reason I keep on coming
You're the only reason I keep on coming
yeah You're the only reason I keep on coming home
Anyways, happy monday people....I'm gonna be so busy this two weeks....and I'm not sure if I'll have time to update my blog...keep checking me up:)

Another singing invitation...

Another friend invited me to sing for his cousin's wedding come this December. He actually has a special request if I could sing this broadway song 'Someone Like You' from Jekyll & Hyde (great - it's one of my fav song) and will be accompanied by a strings orchestra - cool! I told him I shall try my best and will go learn the song first. I heard Barbara Streisand sang this song (I have her CD of her best hits in my collection) but I particularly like Lea Salonga version (see video below) - I'm just totally in love with her voice!

Singing makes me happy!

Easy Listening with Aiza Seguerra

Another beautiful vocal that I fancy - the voice of Aiza Seguerra, a Philipino singer/actress and guitarist. I came across her latest album 'True Love' at the record store and fell in love with her voice and most of her ballads - I LIKE!

From her 'True Love' album, this is my fav ballad 'How Did You Know'. I can't find any official music video clips of Aiza but this can do for now. Enjoy the video and lyrics here:

Check out another video of Aiza singing the same song while playing the guitar here - beautiful!

Once again...Happy Weekend!

My dream song

I love this song to death. I wish I could sing this song at my wedding (but too bad too late).

Lea Salonga (another fav Pinoy singer of mine - I wish I have a voice like hers and she's my true inspiration!) sang this song "Two Words"
at her wedding in front of her groom/now husband, as her wedding vow - how beautiful! (see her wedding video here - sorry unable to embed the video) But I have another video below - sorry it's a bit blurish, since I can't find any official video for this song but this will do for now.

Two Words by Lea Salonga
In a while, in a word,
Every moment now returns.
For a while, seen or heard,
How each memory softly burns.
Facing you who brings me new tomorrows,
I thank God for yesterdays,
How they led me to this very hour,
How they led me to this place...

Every touch, every smile,
You have given me in care.
Keep in heart, always I'll,
Now be treasuring everywhere.
And if life should come to just one question,
Do I hold this moment true?
No trace of sadness,
Always with gladness...
'I DO...'
(Instrumental)

Now a song that speaks of now and ever,
Beckons me to someone new,
Unexpected, unexplored, unseen,
Filled with promise coming through.

In a while, in a word,
You and I forever change,
Love so clear, never blurred,
Has me feeling wondrous, strange,
And if life should come to just one question,
Do I face each moment true?
No trace of sadness, always with gladness,
'I DO...'

Never with sadness...
Always with gladness...
'I...DO....'

I'm so glad I got the music score sheet too and I'm gonna play the piano and sing tonight! However, this is still my dream song and if anyone invites me to sing for their wedding, I'm gonna try my luck to sing this song. (Aisehman...AS IF lah - Ha!)

Talking about weddings...here's a beautiful wedding video of one of my fav pinoy actress - Claudine Barretto. I wish I could rewind at the day of my own wedding and do a wedding ceremony just like this....how I wish!

This is a great idea for those bridegrooms to be and perhaps for those ladies who "wannabe bride".

A Very Special Love

Nothing important here but I just can't get enough of U-Tubes greatness cos everyday I'm obsessed with MUSIC...nothing but music, music and music again. I need music everytime & anywhere - at work, at home (especially in the bathroom - my own vocal instrument that is) and I need an IPOD NANO (I never had one (kesian) but it's on my wish list). My sister Deb just bought one and I'm jealous ha! But soon I'll get one for myself so SAVE MONEY girl!

Anyways, I love Sarah Geronimo as always and especially this lovely video (don't know why I didn't buy her movie with John Lloyd Cruz yet but will go find the video soon). I so love this song - beautiful!

A Very Special Love by Sarah Geronimo

I never believed in love
I was deceived by love
I never had much luck with lovers before...
And I couldn't compete
I seemed just part of the street
To be walked on by everyone but then
Then, I found a very special love in you
It's a feeling that's so totally new
Over and over, it's burning inside
And I found a very special love in you
And it almost breaks me in two
Squeezing me tighter
But I'm never gonna let go...
You're not like the rest
I know you're one of the best
You give more than you should and take nothing in return
Stay always with me
And I always will be
The one person that you can count on always to love you
And I found a very special love in you
It's a feeling that's so totally new
Over and over, it's burning inside
And I found a very special love in you
And it almost breaks me in two
Squeezing me tighter
But I'm never gonna let go
And I Found a very special love in you
It's a feeling that's so totally new
Over and over, it's burning inside
I found a very special love in you
And it almost breaks me in two
Squeezing me tighter
But I'm never gonna let go...
(Repeat and Fade Out)

Happy weekend ya'all

Baler

I've yet to watch the new released 'BALER', a Philippino movie but I'm really looking forward to watching it...I might want to watch it on Cinema or just buy the VCD today. I heard it's romantic & beautifully directed & probably consider an epic as well (like the movie Australia). I'm having goose bumps about it....especially when my fav Phil hunk, Jericho Rosales is on it starring together with Anne Curtis. (Aaaaaarrghh, I'm screaming now - crazy!)

Synopsis (taken from WikiPilipinas):
In 1898, a band of Spanish soldiers heroically defended Baler (which would later be the capital municipality of Aurora in 1951) against Filipino forces for 337 long and grueling days.

Filipino barrio lass Feliza (Anne Curtis) and Filipino-Spanish soldier Celso (Jericho Rosales) are caught in a forbidden love, torn apart by the societies they came from. Feliza's father Nanding (Philip Salvador) is an anti-Spanish government fighter, which puts pressure on the young couple to keep their relationship a secret. Outnumbered and out-gunned by the Indios they once governed and abused, the Spanish soldiers in Baler, including Celso and buddy Lope (Mark Bautista), are now forced to hole up in a church as they wait for non-existent military reinforcements to rescue them from the band of Filipinos who have now surrounded them and are waiting for their surrender.

The music is great as well & of course I've always love the voice of Sarah Geronimo. Sarah sings the Baler movie theme song 'Ngayon, Bukas at Kailanman', composed by Louie Ocampo.

So I've got to watch this movie - A MUST!

Vina Morales's Pangako Sa'yo

I got crazy (too overjoyed) when I found Vina Morales latest album Pangako Sa'yo on the CD rack recently. Normally, I could hardly find Philipino singers cd in any record stores..especially in Sabah. I think this album is a compilation album of all Vina's greatest hits - mostly ballads..oh I so like. I had to buy it (eventhough I was a bit broke) cos it was the last one...I cannot melepas. The last Vina album I bought was in 2001 in KL and it was a self titled album. She's one of my inspiration & favourite Pinoy singers after Lea Salonga. I just love her voice...the way she 'gogor' her voice is unique and her songs are very soothing to hear except some catchy tunes. She's beautiful too!

Check out this video when she won as the 1st ASEAN Icon recently this year. And remember the famous Philipino hit drama Pangako Sa'yo that starred Philippines No. 1 love team - Jericho Rosales and Kristine Hermosa, Vina sang this beautiful theme song.

These days, am busy helping out in the Sabah International Expo 2008 (SIE2008) Official Launching this 3 Dec at Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu...so I can only spare some time to blog during lunch time or after work if I not malas lah. Busy but not stress or tension at all cos listening to Vina really cools me down.
