Welcome Arwen Aedell Joseph!

I have a new nephew - so happy! My younger sister, Chrissie gave birth to a beautiful baby boy yesterday, 20 Oct through c-sect operation after being induced 3 times...I can imagine the pain she had to go through:( Glad that she's such a strong mama! She named her newborn, Arwen Aedell and he's quite a chubby one - he weighs 3.4kg. I kept thinking how cute Arwen is the whole night...can't wait to see him again this weekend. Pictures of him later ya...my digcam was out of battery yesterday so I might grab some pics from my bro Del or Chrissie soon.

Well, here's chrissie & her husby, Joseph before she meletup...

I thought of waiting till the 1st trimester (3 months) is over to reveal this...okay..here goes my share...I'm about 7 weeks pregnant now with my 2nd one. I'm still having that so called 'morning sickness' but not too bad....and sometimes I have 'evening sickness' (funny). Anyways, both husby and I are excited and happy that our Carmen will have a little sister or brother again by next year (expected due date - 1 day after Carmen's bday but will see?) I missed wearing those high heels but what to do I've to wear flatties now - sigh.

MJ's This Is It

A friend & also an MJ's fan, Kim and I had already purchase our tickets to watch MJ's 'This Is It' movie at the end of this month. In Sabah, the movie will be on theaters starting 29 Oct. But shucks! Suddenly my company's event which was scheduled to be held on 28 Oct will be rescheduled on 30 Oct (the movie day) as to coincide with another Budget Talk. Today, I'll try to check with the cinema staff if we can change the tickets to another date. Both of us look so forward to this show. And the new unreleased song 'This Is It' is great too..despite the controversy behind it. For more details, check out this video and here - MJ's official website.

Just Music

I just LOVE a great song with beautiful & inspiring lyrics! Here's one...

Raindrops Will Fall by Tamyra Gray (don't you know she's an inspiring songwriter as well). This is from Tamyra's debut album 'Dreamer'...Enjoy this song with me:

There's a time for every star to shine
and a place for ever-ry dream to see the light
when you have everything
you dont need another reason to be something
nooooo
hold on
you can look to your faith
can't let nobody get in your way

I walk through the fire
Fought through the raging storms
till I found the peace, in side of me
i've got to be strong
i stand for my dreams
i was made for this moment
take me as i am or nothing at all
i'll keep holdin' on
raindrops will fall

they're falling down on me but the sun is gonna shine

oh i was taught not to run away cause raindrops will always fall on your face
when it seems like all hope is gone
you gotta get through the storm before you can see the dawn

this is all i am
this is all i know
and i wont never ever let go
no i wont let goooooo

(I'll walk through the fire)
and fought through the raging storm
till i find the peace inside of me i've got to be strong
I stand for my dreams
i was made for this moment
take me as i am
or nothing at all
i'll keep holding on
raindrops will fall

They're falling down on me
but i know, i know, i know, i know, i know
that the sun is gonna shine

raindrops will fall
oh i know that the sun is gonna shine.

I think this song was Tamyra's first single a few years ago and she sang it live during one of American Idols finale (don't remember what year) but I fell in love with the song the moment she sang it. I love to write lyrics like these one of these days (when I have more of 'me' time).

Songs like these are my kind of music (well, besides loving motown, R&B, jazz..etc) -soulful & strong vocal.

This week..I might blog nothing much but music - Just Music!

Lifting up my spirit!

Honestly, I'm not a frequent church goer but deep inside me I still worship the Lord (usually in silence). Pretty sad to hear huh? / what a shame (I know). So I need lots of 'lifting up my spirit' moment...I do that by listening or I normally sings to my favourite contemporary gospel songs. Here's one of my ultimate fav - I've sung this song a few times in church.

From my fav black American contemporary gospel singers (black singers are my huge influences/inspirations in music), here's Cece Winans with Alabaster Box - just love her voice and performance here, enjoy:

The room grew still as she made her way to Jesus
She stumbles through the tears that made her blind
She felt such pain, some spoke in anger
Heard folks whisper, there's no place here for her kind.
Still on she came, through the shame that flushed her face
Until at last she knelt before His feet. And though she spoke no words
Everything she said was heard, As she poured her love for the Master
>From her box of Alabaster.

CHORUS
And I've come to pour my praise on Him like oil from Mary's Alabaster Box
Don't be angry if I wash His feet with my tears and I dry them with my hair.
You weren't there the night He found me.
You did not feel what I felt when He wrapped His love all around me.
And you don't know the cost of the oil in my Alabaster Box.

VERSE 2
I can't forget the way life used to be. I was a prisoner to the sin that had me bound
I spent my days pouring my life without measure.
Into a little treasure box I thought I found. Until the day when Jesus came to me
And healed my soul with the wonder of His touch.
So now I'm giving back to Him all the praise He's worthy of .
I've been forgiven and that's why I love Him so much.

CHORUS
And I've come to pour my praise on Him like oil from Mary's Alabaster Box
Don't be angry if I wash His feet with my tears
And I dry them with my hair, my hair.
You weren't there the night Jesus found me. You did not feel what I felt
When He wrapped His love all around me. And you don't know the cost of the oil
Oh, you don't know the cost of my praise. You don't know the cost of the oil
In my Alabaster Box.

Inspiring vocal - now my spirit is moved and lifted up!

See ya later...

I've been quiet over here lately and normally with the same reason: busy! But I'll be back soon with more updates and till my mood to blog is back in full swing (ha!)

Since it's fruit season these days...just remember:
DO NOT drink beer (or any alcoholic drinks) and eat durians or else you could be dead meat (aka high risk / serious health complications).

Shots taken during my cousin's engagement party at Kg. Kelawat, Kota Belud on Raya Kedua, 21 Sept 09.

Take care now and see ya later!
