Pantai Dantai@Kota Belud

My family used to own a tiny beach land at Pantai Dantai and when we were kids we loved going there to swim and picnic. My last trip to Dantai was in 2005 before I ventured into mamahood. This place could be developed into a great tourism spot but sadly I don't see why the State's tourism ministry do nothing about it...or do they know that this place actually exist?

The Bajau kids of Pantai Dantai.....

Got to go now...my family and I are celebrating the Kaamatan (Harvest) festival/holidays at Kundasang and Sabah Tea Garden this weekends. Would like to wish to all Sabahans - Kotobian Tadau Tagazo do Kaamatan (Happy Harvest Festival) and Aramaitii!

Steamboat dinner with friends

We (me and friends/colleagues from the SIE) did a farewell dinner for Suzie last week on 20 May at Four Seasons Restaurant, a new steamboat restaurant at Kompleks Asia City. The last steamboat dinner I had was like 3 or 4 years ago...sounds pity kan. Anyways, it was fun moments although I had to leave earlier. Thanks to all you guys (Jerry, Shawn, Yap, Emilia, Suzie and Mrs Loh) for respecting me for not eating pork..hehe. Looking forward to more eating out with you great people!

Varieties of sauces, veges and meats to choose....fresh & delicious!

Celebration in the dark

We lit lots of candles and the moment was sweet...

Bought this cake at the last minute...

Last night we family did a simple birthday celebration for Carmen...with just a cake and blowing her two tiny candles...unfortunately we sang the 'happy birthday' song in the dark...I mean there was no electricity for an hour or so I think...the whole neighbourhood and Tamparuli area was in total blackout.

Anyways, we will celebrate with all the family members soon when Dad and Danny are home for the holidays.

Carmen was born on 12 May, on Wesak Day in 2006 at 4.13pm. While still in my tummy, she was in an oblique position and I had to go through C-Section. She was only 2.3kg....a very tiny bundle of Joy. That very day after hearing her 1st cry was the HAPPIEST MOMENT OF MY LIFE!

My little girl turns 2

Today, 12 May....my lovely and beautiful daughter Carmen Jewel turns 2 years old. We will have to celebrate her birthday at a later date this May after my dad and younger brother Danny are home for their holidays next week. But I gave her birthday gifts this morning and I hugged her tight and kissed her before I left for work (so sad I had to work on her special day). I love her more than anyone else in the world and SHE'S EVERYTHING TO ME right now!

Carmen, this words of love from me, shows how precious you are to me:

I look at your cute little nose
And how you wiggle your toes
I love how you smile at me
You're cute as a button, don't you agree?
I look at the darling clothes you wear
And the tiny bow in your hair
You seem to say to me, "I'm as cute as I can be."
You're cute as a button, yes you are,
You were sent to earth from heaven afar.
I love you my daughter
Hope you know
I will always tell you so

Happy 2nd Birthday to you my CJ!

May all your wishes come true
Let not your heart see any rooms of blue
May all your dreams flower and bloom
And let not your eyes hold any gloom

May God always shine His blessings upon you
Every path you take may he guide you
Dearest one this mother loves you so
Always wants to see you happy and aglow

My dearest darling daughter
Here is a mother wishing you with joy
A very happy happy birthday
to you on this very special day

Love always and forever,
Your mummy
Donna

NKOTB Reunited!

My colleague and I were just talking about our fav celebrity idols during our teen years yesterday...I told her I was a huge fan of the New Kids On The Block back in the early 90's...and I particularly crazily adores Jordan Knight.

And just last night while watching E!, NKOTB is reuniting after 14 years and they just released their new single/new album "Summertime".....ooh wow great! Can't wait to buy it.

Here's my top fav hit song from the New Kids....I'll Be Loving You Forever...love this song to death!

Yeah.......
I'm not that kind of guy who can take a broken heart
So don't ever leave
I don't want to see us part
The very thought of losing you means
That everything
Would go down under

[Chorus: ]
I'll be loving you forever
Just as long as you want me to be
I'll be loving you forever
All this love's for you and me, yeah
(I'll be loving you) I'll be
(I'll be loving you) Loving you
(The things you do) Yeah, it's forever
(I'll be loving you) I'll be
(I'll be loving you) Loving you, yeah

I count the blessings that keep our love new
There's one for me
And a million for you
There's just so much that I want to say
But when I look at you
All my thoughts get in the way

[Chorus ]

We've learned to fall to every turn by now
This love will last forever
I can see it all now

(I'll be loving you) I'll be
(I'll be loving you) Loving you
(The things you do) Yeah, it's forever
(I'll be loving you) I'll be
(I'll be loving you) Loving only you, girl
Oh girl
I'll be loving only you (I'll be loving you)
(I'll be loving you) Be loving you girl

Reaching For The Stars

I'm SO looking forward to buy this book...which is about the Angkasawan's commitment and journey to achieve his ambition of becoming an astronaut left behind by his late younger brother, Sheikh Mustapha Shukor Al-Masrie or Ajil as known to friends and family, who went into coma and passed away after knocking into a pillar. In this book, Dr Sheikh Muszaphar or Amus as he is affectionately known to his family takes a step back for Ajil, it turns out, was the unsung hero who inspired his brother's success. I think I'm gonna HEART this book. More interesting details about the book here.

Words by Dr Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor that inspires me:
"This is what my job is about, it's taking time to inspire the younger generation and change their attitudes, to believe in themselves. I always tell them that if I can do it, they can as well. I'm not someone special. If I can do it, you can too. This is why I'm trying to reach out to them"

"What the mind believes, the body can achieve" and if you really believe in yourself and work very hard, you will achieve your dream"

Dr Sheikh Muszaphar with his brothers (he was born 3rd of the five boys). Left & next to Dr Sheikh is the late Ajil.

To the ladies...Dr Sheikh reveals the truth (or denial..?) says "No! Romance is not on my list of priorities at this point of time"...keep waiting:P

His wish...that all parents read this book to their children before bedtime to make them realise that to reach a goal, you need to start with a single step. Mine led me to the stars!

Am off to the bookstores now!

Spending my 'Me Time'

It's a holiday today (Labour Day)...should've be with my Carmen but am taking some time for myself today pulak....right now am in my office with Debbie (she's updating her blog now). Carmen will be turning two this 12 May...so my plans today is actually finding/buying a birthday dress and some gifts for her...and today is the only right time for me to do this...so I'm not a bad mama after all who leaves her baby with the nanny at home kan. Speaking of nanny....I have a new nanny (again..sigh), a timorese girl from Indon named Fika (I like her..she suppose to work for me in the 1st place but she had to renew her passport then and let her friend Tinah replace her instead) and the 4th nanny for Carmen cos Tinah has to 'pulang kampung' to be with her ailing father. Like I say before, it's a huge challenge for any parent to find a good nanny for your children. My advise....you have to treat them well and they won't be ill hearted towards your children or if you still don't trust them...pasang lah nanny cam.

Now....about American Idol 2008....gosh I've missed watching most of the concerts...but I don't have any favourites for this season but I think the two Davids will compete in the finals. Who do you think will be the next American Idol?

The cute voice and boyish David Archuleta

or the grunge rocker David Cook?

For me I prefer the rocker....yeah you rock David Cook!

Well, enjoy your cuti today...have to find Carmen's gifts now.

Later from me....Mama learns to rock!
