Felix Quah and Evelyn Belden's Sunset Wedding (28 September 2008)

It was Felix and Evelyn's wedding last Sunday, 28 September. It was a sunset wedding which took place at the Wedding Pavilion, Shangri-La's Rasa Ria Resort, Tuaran. The bride is my 2nd cousin (from my mom's side) and she actually asked me to sing during her wedding ceremony. The ceremony was simple but lovely...of course the venue is a plus...beautiful...but the reception, perhaps with some entertainment could be fun but it's okay.

The couple wearing the Dusun Tindal's traditional costume from Kota Belud. I guess I could consider myself as a Dusun Tindal b'cos my mom's side of the family comes from Kota Belud. I just love that outfit...thinking of getting one of those myself and probably could cost me more than RM1000 even for a cheaper version.

A must in a Kadazandusun wedding - dancing the famous 'Sumazau' dance

The sisters - Korina and Evelyn

With Oscar, also my 2nd cousin accompanied me while I sing in the electric piano

To Felix and Evelyn - CONGRATULATIONS!

Weekend appointment

I've been invited by a relative to sing at her sunset wedding this coming Sunday, 28 September. The wedding venue will be at the Wedding Pavilion, Shangri-La's Rasa Ria Resort. I'm a bit nervous...cos I have not done any vocal practise recently....but am still looking forward to that event.

Anyways, happy weekend ya.

Tips to be more ATTRACTIVE!

This is especially for all the ladies...hey you can be more attractive if you follow these simple tips...it all depends on you.

There is no magic involved when it comes to be attractive. It is just a way of life you should learn to adopt if you desire to win the attention of the opposite sex. The following ‘guidelines’ are the outcomes of research on the heart, soul and psyche of guys. Take them by hearts and you will find yourself more attractive, in addition to give a boost to your self-esteem, particularly men.

1. Smile as often as you can.
Men are most attracted to a woman who is happy. A smile is like a big neon sign that tells the world you’re a happy person and probably fun to be around. We’re all attracted to that kind of person. Besides, smiling works those muscles in your face and keeps your face firmer, slowing the aging process. Plus, every time you smile, it’s kind of like you’ve just given yourself a face-lift. Smiling counters gravity. So ladies, lift those faces, work those muscles and smile your heart out.

2. Laugh frequently.
When you hear someone laughing, doesn’t it make you want to go over there and be with them, to join in the fun? A person who laughs easily is assumed to be happy. When you laugh, you’re relaxed and self-consciousness flies out the door. Attractive means to draw toward you. Everyone wants to be around happy people. Why not be that person that people are attracted to? Plus, laughter creates endorphins, which is good for your immune system, and most likely, keeps you younger. At least you’ll feel younger.

3. Look directly into men’s eyes…with a little smile on your lips.
The other thing men said they were most attracted to was a woman who genuinely likes herself, who’s comfortable with who she, who like how she looks, and who’s not self-conscious. If you’re self-conscious it’s difficult to look people in the eyes. If you can’t look a man in the eyes you can’t really connect. It’s the primary signal to a man that you’re open to him advancing closer. Without that eye contact, that permission, most men will turn and go somewhere else. Practice looking at people slightly longer than is comfortable, with a little hint of a smile. It makes people notice you more and become more interested in you. It’s amazing how a few seconds of eye contact can make all the difference. They don’t call it a “come-hither” look for nothing.

4. Walk with grace and self-confidence.
It was funny how often men said they were attracted to a woman who had good posture. When you stand straight you’re physically more attractive, you tell the world you’re proud of who you are, comfortable with how you look. A woman who stands tall is truly beautiful. However, a woman with bad posture, even a classically beautiful woman, falls short.

5. Flirt, but keep it subtle.
Men said the only thing that was scarier than approaching a new woman was the possibility of physical danger. The lingering eye contact and smiling from across the room are part of that subtle flirting. A touch on the arm actually moves things to be the next level, letting him know you’re open to him. A woman who’s guarded doesn’t usually touch a man and men know than. Flirting is being friendly, keeping the door open, and letting them know we’re not going to embarrass them. But it must be subtle because it becomes crass if we’re too over.

6. Have style, be classy.
An attractive woman is a classy woman. When you pay attention to the little details, then you stand out above the rest. An attractive woman is an exceptional woman. Look around and you’ll see for yourself. Become exceptional by taking those extra steps with you hair, make-up, and clothes. Don’t overdo it but keep it simple. Let your true beauty shine through. When everything is overdone, you can’t see the women beneath all the layers. And men are usually turned off by a woman with too much hair, make-up, jewelry…well, you know, to much.

7. Enjoy your femininity.
Men said they found a woman who obviously enjoys being a woman to be extremely attractive. Even if you’re just going to the post office, if it makes you feel more feminine, put on a little lipstick, blush, and mascara. A quick brush through the hair and you’re ready. Jeans and a T-shirt can be very attractive on a woman who enjoys being a woman. On a woman who doesn’t care, they’re just “guy” clothes, something to cover the body, keep it warm. It is also suggests to paint those toenails and red is recommended if you dare. Then, instead of boring sneakers, throw on some of those great open-toed slings or sandals that are in all the stores right now. It’s sexy! You’ll feel it and he’ll notice it.

Can you see how subtle all this is? So girl, get out there and play with this stuff. You will notice how differently men respond to you. Let loose, get creative and enjoy….

My say.....The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes. Because that is the doorway to her heart. The place where love resides.

Ramadhan Bazaar

The thing I like most about the Muslim's fasting month is going to the Ramadhan Bazaar in the evening. I enjoyed lurking for food..all kinds of tasty but spicy food and of course can't missed all those colourful varieties of Malay kuehs. I can even find chocolate cupcakes such as these ones...

Happy fasting to all my Muslim friends (if ever you read this lah)...and don't forget to invite me to your open houses during the Hari Raya celebration.

Debbie and Jerry's Engagement Day (31 Aug 2008)

Congrats to Debbie and Jerry. They are now officially engaged to each other. It was a cool engagement event that took place at Rajah Lodge, Kinabalu National Park on Malaysia's Merdeka Day, 31 August 2008. The number of guests attended was just right/perfect and the ceremony was short, simple and nice...where the two families discussed and agreed on the so called 'berian quotation' and then they had the exhange of engagement rings...that's all..but it was such lovely moments...and of course the reception was great too...I mean the food...lots of it. I say Debbie's done a great job...she's always good in planning her own way.

Deb's DIY centrepiece and cupcakes were served (sorry..too much sunshine..pic not clear)

The couple

My uncle...the MC

The ring bearer...Jerry's niece, Matilda

My relatives

My Carmen and nephew Delbert....behind the scenes

Someone is feeling boring

Jerry's 6 or 8 months old niece, Nancy so badly wants to play with Carmen and Delbert...

Finally baby Nancy's mom (Katrina), let her play with the two funny rascals

Probably in her mind right now..."The engagement event is over...now I'm thinking about my next DIY project...my wedding"

Carmen's 1st day at the Nursery/Play School

Having nanny problem again...I just HATE it when this problem comes up. I guess I'm too nice and too lenient to them that they can take advantage of me...(perasan). Anyways, I have no choice but send Carmen to the Nursery or some parents might call it Play School or Day Care Centre. And today is her 1st day at the Nursery. I met the teachers a day earlier and did a tour in their little nursery...well I could say I'm pretty satisfied...clean and safe environment for my little girl and the teachers are kind and capable....which is most important and I believe Carmen would be in good hands there. She will be meeting and playing with new little friends and doing some activities like singing and colouring there which is great. I'm sure Carmen is happy going to school....just hope for the best.

A Connie Talbot wannabe....

To have a breath of fresh air and brightens up mine and your day...here's 'Charlie bit my finger' video...SO CUTE!
