Visit to the Lok Kawi Wildlife Park

My family and I visited Sabah's own and newly completed zoo aka the Lok Kawi Wildlife Park last 30 March 2008. I've always wanted to bring my Carmen to see the animals there. It was actually a school field trip organised by the Sabah Training Primary School, a Tamparuli based mission school where my husband worked as the principal there and we took the chance to join them and so does some of the teachers and parents who also brought their entire family along. It was a pretty fun and enjoyable day...especially for my little Carmen... although it was a bit tiring to go around the park on foot...hope they can improved their facilities like start operating those mini train rides for people to go around.

Check out some of the animals (including birds) they have in the park here:

It was funny listening at these so called intelligent bird aka the 'burung tiung' and they can really talked like humans do....well simple & common sentences only though such as 'hello, siapa nama kau', 'sudah makan kah' and 'bye'....so cool! Just look at my Carmen and her daddy's faces....concentrate je.

Pygmy Elephants - am wondering what is that male elephant doing with it's nose....

Bengal Tiger taking a nap

The Lemur from Madagascar - Carmen's favourite creature

Proboscis Monkeys - you don't have to go to Sukau, Sandakan or Klias, Beaufort anymore to see this famous Dutch man of Borneo (?).

One should abide these rules and regulations at the park...please appreciate and care for our wildlife ya!
