Loving green

While shopping at Warisan Square the other day, there was like a mini flea market going on there and me being so Donna loves flea markets especially those stalls selling collectible items. Some of the sellers are from China and what attracted me most are these handmade bracelets and tiny China dolls made of clay or plaster paris (whatever).

This China man giving me a sexy pose made those cute tiny China dolls...pretty for collection but I didn't buy any...perhaps later I will return to his stall and buy two tiny baby China dolls which I really like and it would cost me RM15 for just that...I will try my bargaining skills again and hope he would give me cheaper price this time. I think these are cool crafts and I don't mind buying a piece to add to my collections...I'll come back to his stall for sure this week.

This tiny clay dolls costs from RM10 -25...depends how big it is. I liked those 2 baby dolls and I hope it is still there when I come back.

This young lady from China is so creative that she handmade all these nice necklaces and bracelets..but some looks so-China to me but I love her Lucky Clover necklace and vintage-look bracelets. I found out she's only 24 years old and already a businesswoman with her own line of knotting crafts and body accessories.

There goes my RM50....for all these.

What I mean by loving green is that I love all shades of green...it's my favourite colour and I've been buying lots of green stuffs recently from clothes to body accessories.

27 Dresses

Here's another new movie this year that I just watched last night...another boring one for me..I don't quite like the story. But of course Katherine Heigl (I love her voice..I mean the way she talks) and James Marsden are cute actors but I think them both are not secocok enough to be the ideal love screen couple..I just can't feel this movie at all. More info about this movie, just click on the title.

Movies to watch during the free time....
* Enchanted
* Hairspray
* P.S. I Love You
* The Pianist (kept the dvd since 2004 but never get to finish watching it, it's too much emotion involved...have to be prepared-konon!)

Itu Kamu

'Itu Kamu' that's the song that won the 22nd Anugerah Juara Lagu last Sunday nite...me watched it too...I'm not suprised this song would win the Pop/Rock Category but I was quite shock that it won the Juara Lagu this year...kudos to Estranged (I like this band even more now) and of course we Sabahans must be proud of our own Sabahan Lass, Rich L. Gimbang whom actually penned this song...and I so liked the part when he shouted Aramai Tii on stage when their song were anounced as Juara Lagu..oh la la..Great for them..they're no more underdogs ok. Don't you think that tall guy is so damn cute..hehe!

Here's the list of winners at AJL-22:

Best Vocal : Jaclyn Victor & Lah (won by a duo for the 1st time in AJL)
Best Performance : Mawi (he sure won one if involved voting via sms)
Etnik Kreatif : Samudera - Johan Nawawi/Ahmad Fedtri Yahya (Singer: Nora)
Pop Rock : Itu Kamu - Estranged/Rich L. Gimbang (Estranged) - Love this song and band already
Balada : Izinkan Ku Pergi - Adnan Abu Hassan (Singer: Sahri)
Juara Lagu : Itu Kamu (Estranged)

Nuts about Donuts

I had some very yummy donuts from the Big Apple Donuts n Coffee last week..finally! My sis didn't believe me it's yummilicious (is there such a word?...whatever)..I pity her! I guess she's just scared of how fattening it is. Just at that moment...I don't care...I broke my 'losing weight' rules and gobbled like 3 donuts...so far I tried these flavours - Peanut Butter (I love this), the king of fruit (durian - I love this one too) and Chocochino...and silakut..had stomach upset that night...thank goodness to Mr Charcoal. But will be trying more flavours sometime this week. Hey..wanna join me eat...I will buy a box of 6 (only)...betul ni. Then after that I will strictly continue on my diet and dancing exercises...wish me luck!

Those donuts are so popular nowadays and as you can see most of the donuts are all gone...I even heard people waiting in a long que to buy them

My favourite...you can tell from its spikey look...the famous king of fruit 'durian' flavour

Here's the whole list of the Big Apple Donuts...Mmmm..very tempting indeed!

Swollen Eyes

My eyes are swollen today. I cried alot and only slept at around 1:30am last night. I had to drink coffee this morning...I've cut down my coffee intake but today I just can't help it..my eyes are too tired and sleepy (siapa suruh). Last night, I cried for no particular reason actually...I'm just being to over emotional....it's just a sad movie...and romantic too...yea, I watched one of my favourite Bollywood (Hindi) movie "Dil Hai Tumhara" (All I Need is Love - not sure if this is the exact translation)...a story about family and love triangle between two sisters (Mahima Chaudhary and Preity Zinta) and one man (Arjun Rampal). I bought this movie in 2002 and this is the 3rd time I watch it again and still cried like a baby...till my sleeves all soaked with my tears. I still have a crush on the hunky Arjun and Preity is one of my fav Bollywood actress...just love her very bubbly and witty personality. And the part where the mother (acted by the evergreen Rekha) denied her love but show hatred towards her stepdaughter is the saddest one...I cried till my hidung tersumbat..silly huh?!. Interested to know which sister the man loves?

Science and the Universe

I came across this article from the Dialogue Magazine (or bulletin-?) Vol. 18 (just ask me if you’re curious what kind of mag/bulletin is this). I’m just wondering…why they titled this article as “Science and the Universe” (in a symbolic manner…I guess).

Imagine a family of mice who lived all their lives in a large piano. To them in their piano world came the music of the instrument, filling all the dark spaces with sound and harmony. At first the mice were impressed by it. They drew comfort and wonder from the thought there was someone who made the music-thought invisible to them-above, yet close to them. They loved to think of the Great Player whom they could not see.

Then one day a daring mouse climbed up part of the piano and returned very thoughtful. He had found out how the music was made. Wires were the secret-tightly stretched wires of graduated lengths which trembled and vibrated. They must revise all their old beliefs; none but the most conservative could any longer believe in the Unseen Player.

Later another explorer carried the explanation further. Hammers were now the secret, numbers of hammers dancing and leaping on the wires. This was a more complicated theory, but it all went to show that they lived in a purely mechanical and mathematical world. The Unseen Player came to be thought of as a myth.

But the Pianist continued to play.

Painting with Carmen

Last weekend, I taught Carmen (CJ) how to paint. I found my very, very old poster colours (some harden) and before getting rid of them I thought I better put it to better use....let my CJ play with it. Her face and dress were all covered with paints. Perlie Jane, CJ's nanny joined us later on and guided her on how to use the paint brush. I planned to do some paintings using oil and acylic soon and start to use the rolls of canvas that a friend donated to me a few years ago. This is one of my resolution this year - DO MORE ARTS (as in crafts and paintings).

We'll be doing more paintings together again..it's so much fun!

Recap - The week before 08

Here's a recap of what I did the week before we entered the 2008 year..I know I'm talking about outdated stories....just some memories sharing here:

1) 24 Dec 2007 - Had our very simple family Christmas eve dinner and birthday celebration for Deb and I (by the way...we are fraternal twins...info for some who don't know yet). This time..all our family members were home and together for Christmas which is great...like Dad from Penang (he works there..probably until he retires), younger sis, Diane Chrissie just finished her KPLI in Perlis and Danny from Tawau (Maktab).

Mom bought us this tinnnnyyyy carrot cheese flavoured birthday cake from some bakery house....looks quite cute but not so yummy though but we appreciate it

See how we appreciate our tiny cake....

And how we appreciate ourselves as sisters....from Deb's reaction..as if something is about to explode

Glad that our Christmas tree is all up with lights....thanks to Danny

My beloved 80+ year old grandma also tried to imitate me

My very own small family

The next day was Christmas...gave Carmen her presents. We stayed home most of the time...nothing so special about Christmas anymore compare to yester years☹...just eat, rest and watched some programmes on tv...sounds boring huh?!
Carmen finally got her own laptop (toy only) so she won't disturb her daddy's real one anymore...we'll see.

2) 30 Dec 2007 - There was a double wedding of my neigbours - Alverina & Peter and Almond & Nancy's (Brother and sister got hitched at the same time). And again...was invited to sing at their church wedding ceremony. I sang Cece Winan's song 'For Always'. I didn't really get to practise that song the night before so I was not quite ready....a former teacher of mine recorded my singing (video here - may be a poor quality recording with some silly/funny faces in it)...and I think I sound awful..but it's ok..I sang for the couples and not for myself...asal ada lah. See..this is what happens when there's lack of vocal practises and my singing has gone 'merosot'...totally. Double congrats to the newlyweds.

Alverina and Peter

Almond and Nancy

With Enya Belle, she was one of the flower girls that day...she was my flower girl at my own wedding in 2003 and she was only about 2 years old and now she's all grown up already.

3) 31 Dec 2007 - Celebrated my nephew Delbert's 1st Birthday. He's so cute and loves to pose for the camera. And again more makan. Before midnight...went to a neighbour's new year open house again but me already too full to stuff food into my mouth just go there to say hi and wish everyone a happy new year.

Delbert blowing his birthday candle

While we were having our prayers before makan...I as usual did not closed my eyes and saw Delbert secretly scooping some cake with his hands into his mouth...I just can't stop myself from giggling quietly.
Mom cooked lots of food as usual..some western and some kampungan style.

Again..we had the 'Lompuka' served..this is somewhat like a tradition(?)...we also had Lompukas during Carmen's 1st bday.

We had another cake..for like new year cake (konon) called Chocolate Indulgence (I think) from Secret Recipe...generously sponsored by Deb...taste like ice-cream cake...very yummy! I guess my younger bro Danny thinks these two sisters are quite vain (sorry sistas)

With neighbours and friends before the new year countdown.

It was already the new year the next day...swimming time for Delbert and Carmen. Unfortunately Carmen was too afraid to jump into the mini swimming pool with Delbert. Carmen just had to see Delbert enjoying the waters from a far.

Music to my ears

My mind is too slow or has gone into partial blankness at the moment...for blogging. Trying to be productive at work..still have not cleared all those docs for filling...and I'm really bad in filling...the company should at least give me some training...please... before all the papers jadi macam twin towers!

To start off this 2008, I bought Dato' Siti Nurhaliza's latest album 'Hadiah Daripada Hati'...and as usual there are some nice ballads in it. This is her 12th solo album and her 1st album since her marriage with Dato' K. This is my 4th pop album collection I bought of Siti (er..5 actually..after Carmen was throwing all my cassette collections (too expensive to purchase the ori CD back then) ..I did a recount). I would close my eyes and feel the music...especially the ballads and to be inspired with her vocal. (Actually this was my bday & X'mas treat last Dec 07...for myself) Didn't get any presents...(I guess I have not been a good girl last year or Santa just have forgotten..kekeke..as if)..but we had nice family dinner and a tiny bday cake on Christmas eve..suprisingly which is also my bday and I finally get my Yamaha Electric Piano fixed and paid like RM200 over and Dad being a super dad and great as always paid for it...I consider it as a bday gift then...thank you Daddy.....photos on that occassion later ya.

'Hadiah Dari Hati' has 11 songs:
1) Ku Mahu (Audi Mok / Rina Khan)
2) Melawan Kesepian (Pongky Barata)
3) Mulanya Cinta (Dick Lee / Adlin Aman Ramly)
4) Tanpa Kalian (Taufik /Taufik / Dato Siti Nurhaliza)
5) Biarkan (Azlan Abu Hassan / Azalea)
6) Kerana Dirimu (Cynthia Lamusu)
7) Hati (Sharon Paul / Shuhaimi Baba)
8) Wanita (Muhamad Fahmi / Shanty Ramadani / Dato Siti Nurhaliza)
9) Cintamu (Sharon Paul / Fedtri Yahya)
10) Sutramaya (Aubrey Suwito / Tinta S)
11) Sekian Lama (Azlan Abu Hassan / Azalea)

Looking forward to buy these two Malaysian singers album soonnnn....I heard they're pretty great...sweet, soulful and Jazzy! To listen to their vocals, check out Atilia's Selalu Denganmu (her vocal is sweet like Sheila Majid) and Noryn's Cerita Cinta (I just love her strong jazzy voice) videos.

1) Sangkar by Atilia

2) Alam Maya by Noryn Aziz

Will update you on my new year's resolution later...
